Lindsay began her dance training at the age of three. At age eight she began competing across the country winning many team and solo awards at the regional and national level. In High School, Lindsay expanded her dance education by attending numerous conventions and workshops where she worked with prestigious teachers and choreographers and was awarded many individual scholarships including Elite Dancer, Teen and Senior Miss West Coast Dance Explosion, and many other competition titles.
After graduating high school, Lindsay was selected for an internship at Broadway Dance Center in New York City where she trained with professional teachers and choreographers in disciplines such as ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, hip hop, contemporary, musical theater, and voice. Lindsay was also one of the two people in the country chosen for a full scholarship to train with the the Radio City Rockettes at their summer intensive. She has taught at numerous local studios, including Ballet Western Reserve, and has completed two years of her teaching certification through Dance Masters of America.
Since opening the studio's doors in 2010, Lindsay has led her competitive team to bring home over 10 national championships and she has also won numerous regional and national choreography awards along the way.
Outside of EDA, Lindsay has traveled as a judge for Starpower- the top dance competition in the industry- and she also attended the Dance Teacher Summit in the summer of 2013 in New York City. She extends her dance education by traveling across the country to attend workshops, conventions, and competitions to ensure the dancers of Escape Dance Academy are receiving the best dance education in the area.
Teaching and working with children have always been Lindsay's passion. Owning her own dance studio is truly a dream come true!
Julie Grasse began her dance training at the age of six at the Canton Ballet, where she was the youngest member accepted into the Company. She danced in many storybook ballets including the Nutcracker, Cinderella, and Hansel and Gretel as well as numerous original pieces set on the Company by award winning choreographers. She did summer studies at the Cleveland Ballet (now San Jose Ballet) and studied with renowned teachers such as Melissa Hayden, Gus Giordano, Dennis Nahat, and Jerry Burr. After dancing with the University of Akron Dance Ensemble, she graduated and began her teaching career. Having taught at several studios, she came full circle and returned to Canton Ballet and is now their Early Childhood Specialist. Mrs. Grasse is the lead dance provider for the Artful Living Program in the Canton City School preschool department. She has been at Westbrook Park Nursery School for twenty five years and teaches music, movement, and dance. She is PlayRight and Leap and Leap certified. Mrs. Grasse is married and has two children. Evan is a law school graduate and EDA's beloved Miss Elise just finished her 2nd year of chiropractic school." For several years I have watched the EDA dancers compete and I love the dedication and devotion they have for their art form. I am excited to bring my passion and expertise in ballet to the dancers to compliment and increase their skills to make them even fiercer competitors!"
Lily started her dance career at the age of two and has been trained in all dance styles including ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary/lyrical, hip hop, and tap. During her competitive career, Lily won many scholarships from prestigious teachers and choreographers in tap and hip hop. Lily graduated with honors from Boardman High School in 2014, followed by enrolling at Youngstown State University as an Information Technology major with a Dance minor. While at YSU, Lily performed with the YSU Dance Ensemble for two years, and danced as a YSU Penguinette for three years! Lily is currently the head coach for the Austintown Middle School Dance Line and just recently graduated from Raphaels Beauty School as a Nail Technician.
Kaitlyn started her dance career at Generation Dance Company, where she studied many genres of dance. She graduated from Austintown Fitch High School, where she danced for four years as an Austintown Fitch Cadet and served two years as a dance captain. Over the years, Kaitlyn has done many musicals and performances. Her highlights include Dancer Laurey in Oklahoma! at Crown Theather, and Victoria in Cats at the Youngstown Playhouse. Aside from teaching at Escape, Kaitlyn is also employed at Youngstown Dance Supply and is Majoring in Dance Management at Youngstown State University where she is a member of the YSU Dance Ensemble. We are also proud to announce that Kait has taken over the role of the advisor and coach of the Austintown Fitch Cadets! Kaitlyn loves teaching at Escape and says it is a dream come true!
From the age of three through graduating from Girard High School in 2002, Jessica studied dance under the instruction of Anita Lin of Ballet Western Reserve. During her high school career, she trained at Ballet Met and Point Park University for numerous summer intensives.
After graduating High School, Jessica received a scholarship from Ohio University where she graduated with a BFA in dance in 2006. Since graduation Jessica has spread her love of dancing though the students she has taught. She has taught at various dance studios and has choreographed many performances that have been showcased at Powers Auditorium, the Butler Art Museum, and many others!

Katie graduated from Ohio University in 2013, with a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism. After living, interning, and working in various areas around the country, Katie moved back home to McDonald. In 2015 she started to work at 33 WYTV as a Lifestyle Anchor on their morning show, Daybreak. Katie began her career in fitness after her own 30 pound weight loss. After completing a challenge a work, she learned to love working out and eating well. Her love for fitness grew, and she became a NETA- Certified Group Fitness instructor in April, 2016. She has been teaching body sculpting classes at Creekside Fitness for over a year. At the beginning of Escape Dance Academy's 2016-2017 year, Katie began teaching the Mini and Junior Competition team's Core & Conditioning class. In February 2017, Katie became a NETA- Certified Personal Trainer. Her love for fitness continues to grow, as does her education, with continuing education credits through NETA. Katie will also be teaching our 2017 Summer Sweat Toddler Dance & Music class. She loves teaching adults and children alike, and sharing her love of fitness with all ages!

Loretta started her dance journey over thirty years ago, locally studying tap, jazz, and ballet. She has experienced years on a competitive team in her youth, professional workshops near and far, and she has also taught dance for over 10 years before coming to Escape Dance Academy. Currently, she is the conditioning coach for the competition youth to help with strength, endurance, flexibility, and balance. She takes pride in challenging them to work at their fullest potential and ability. Loretta attended Youngstown State University and graduated with an Exercise Science degree and a minor in dance. She is an Exercise Physiologist at Braking Point Recovery Center, working with adult clients who struggle with addiction. She helps her clients work on physical wellness to help them stay focused on their recovery to remain sober. Loretta also runs various wellness programs at our local YMCAs as a wellness coordinator. She has been with the YMCA for over 13 years teaching yoga, pilates, group exercise classes, and personal training. Her trainings, education, and certifications allow her to work with cancer survivors, individuals who are at risk for diabetes, arthritis management, and exercise prescription. Loretta makes her home in Austintown with her husband, Scot and their six children Ann, Alan, Aleah, Alexander, Angela, and Anderson. Loretta enjoys traveling, camping, and spending as much time with her children as possible.

Holly started dancing at age 5, and by age 9 began dancing competitively at the Performing Arts Center. Holly has been trained in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical and hip hop. Although she loves all styles of dance, Holly especially loves tap. During high school, Holly was a reoccurring cast member of the Easy Street Productions Christmas Spectacular Dancers. After graduating high school from McDonald, Holly attended Youngstown State University to study Special Education and was a member of YSU’s Dance Ensemble, where she had the opportunity to study and gain a new perspective for the art of dance. Also during college, Holly was a member of the Mahoning Valley Thunder’s Dance Team and the Youngstown Steelhound’s Dance Team where she performed during arena football and hockey games at the Covelli Center. Currently, Holly is a 4th Grade Intervention Specialist at Liberty Local Schools. She is married to Robert and has son named Alexander. She is beyond excited to join the Escape Dance Academy family and is looking forward to a fun and successful year.

Kenzie started her dance career at the age of six. Throughout the years, Kenzie trained in several genres of dance including jazz, contemporary, ballet, hip hop, tap, and acro. As she traveled to many dance competitions and conventions, she received several scholarships, titles, and overall high scores with her solos and group routines with her Escape team. Kenzie graduated from Western Reserve Local Schools in June of 2017. As she leaves high school, she has decided to pick up on photography and hopefully create her own business one day. Kenzie is happy to be back with her Escape family and sharing her love for dance with all of her students! Her goal is to provide her students with the opportunity to have the exciting and successful dance experience she had as a child.
